Course Details

Our 6 week Intermediate class is ideal for dogs who have a basic understanding of commands. Suitable for dogs over 12 months, this course helps refine existing skills, improve focus, and build reliability in everyday situations.

Your course starts with a live online session followed by fun, practical in-person classes. This step-by-step approach ensures you and your dog have a solid foundation for learning and success!

Get ready for training with expert guidance on:

โœ… Your Dog's Development & Behaviour โ€“ How age, environment, and experiences shape behaviour.

โœ… Assess Your Home Environment โ€“ Discuss how we can create a safe, confidence-boosting environment for you and your dog.

โœ… Socialisation Done Right โ€“ Not all socialisation is beneficial. Weโ€™ll discuss how to expose your dog to experiences safely and positively.

โœ… Choosing Training Tools โ€“ Are you using appropriate leads, harnesses, and treats for your dogโ€™s needs?

โœ… Reading Your Dog's Body Language โ€“ Many problem behaviours stem from missed communication

Build real-life skills and confidence with hands-on training, including:

โœ… Reinforce Essential Cues & Build Reliability โ€“ Strengthen your dogโ€™s ability to respond quickly and consistently to key skills like stay and recall.

โœ… Loose-Lead Walking & Handling โ€“ Teach your dog to walk calmly by your side, even in exciting environments.

โœ… Recall Training โ€“ Learn why your dog may ignore recall cues and how to make coming back more rewarding.

โœ… Polite Greetings & Socialisation - Practice greetings and reading body language.

โœ… Building Confidence Through Play โ€“ Fun activities to improve social skills and strengthen your bond.

Our Intermediate classes are suitable for dogs from 12 months old. Each class is 45 minutes long with a maximum of 6 owners.

Classes are held indoors, with an outdoor area for play and toileting. The Riverside Community Centre has free parking.

Additional Support

A Private, Dedicated WhatsApp Group - A safe space for doggy parents to ask questions, share progress, and get support between sessions.

Weekly Recaps - A short email summary of what was covered, including key takeaways and reminders.

Short Video Demos - Quick videos showing how to reinforce key commands at home.

Recommendations - Tips on where to find areas to walk, online and local community groups, and local services.

What You'll Need

โœ… Treats โ€“ Bring plenty! We recommend using a treat pouch rather than a plastic bag or your pockets.

โœ… 6 foot lead โ€“ it should not be a slip lead, extendable or elastic.

โœ… Flat collar or harness โ€“ whichever you prefer.

โœ… Poop bags โ€“ we have disposal bins.
